FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Germany’s Volkswagen will not be involved by any Apple plans for a passenger car that would embody the iPhone maker’s battery expertise, its chief govt Herbert Diess stated.
Reuters reported in December that Apple might have progressed sufficient to construct a car for mass markets by 2024, helped by price cuts in battery expertise.
“The automobile business will not be a typical tech-sector that you could possibly take over at a single stroke,” Diess was quoted as saying an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
“Apple won’t handle that in a single day,” he added.
Whereas Apple’s plans aren’t public, Diess stated its intentions as such had been “logical” as a result of the corporate had experience in batteries, software program and design, and that it had deep pockets to construct on these competencies.
