FRANKFURT: Germany’s Volkswagen isn’t involved by any Apple plans for a passenger automobile that would embrace the iPhone maker’s battery expertise, its chief govt Herbert Diess stated.
Reuters reported in December that Apple could have progressed sufficient to construct a automobile for mass markets by 2024, helped by price cuts in battery expertise.
“The automobile business isn’t a typical tech-sector that you may take over at a single stroke,” Diess was quoted as saying an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
“Apple won’t handle that in a single day,” he added.
Whereas Apple’s plans will not be public, Diess stated its intentions as such have been “logical” as a result of the corporate had experience in batteries, software program and design, and that it had deep pockets to construct on these competencies.
“Nonetheless, we’re not afraid,” he stated.
